For the early Stages, you'll ascend fast, with quick renewals of Gear. Therefore, don't forget to recycle and smelt your old Gear to reclaim the materials you used.
Backpack space is precious. As you grow, you'll find that many low-level pills, materials, and items become obsolete. Use the Auto Sell feature to clear out unneeded items, making room for more valuable ones.
Still need more storage space? You can craft expansion items to unlock more slots, both the blueprint and materials for the item are available in the Market.
Any chests or Realm Bags you find in Realms will be placed in the Special section of your Backpack. Remember, there's a daily limit on the number of times you can open them, so open the higher-level ones first.
Also, you can unlock more Backpack slots by using the Voidite, which can be obtained from the Elysian Chamber and forging.
